Dayton Live Q Theatre provides space for young people to be their authentic selves, build community, strengthen identity, and express their lived experiences through the performing arts.
Designed for LGBTQ+ teens (ages 13-18) and their allies who are seeking a creative, therapeutic, and inclusive outlet, participants collaborate to create original work that speaks directly to the challenges, obstacles, joys, and resilience of queer teens in the Dayton region. Research shows that applied theatre programs like Q Theatre improve mental health and well-being, reduce anxiety and isolation, and increase protective factors for LGBTQ+ youth.
