Like Alfredo, you will be swept away by Violetta’s celebrated charm, even if you know in advance that she is La Traviata – the woman who strayed. Although their love is doomed from the start, it’s no less passionate. You’ll be riveted by the compelling story of thwarted love set to Verdi’s rich and evocative music.
Escape to Vienna this New Year’s Eve to celebrate the arrival of a new year in the “Roarin’ 20s” of the 21st Century with the Dayton Performing Arts Alliance. The Dayton Philharmonic Orchestra and vocalists from Dayton Opera take us on a journey to the City of My Dreams.
Don Giovanni is so bad, he’s great – one of opera’s most compelling antiheros. Based on legends of the famed seducer Don Juan, DON GIOVANNI became one of Mozart’s supreme musical achievements and is considered one of the greatest operas of all time
A “Diamond” 60th anniversary is certainly a landmark occasion to celebrate, and what better way than with the Opera Star Recital featuring favorite singers from recent seasons from Tom Bankston’s silver anniversary tenure.
FINDING WRIGHT traces parallel narrative threads that begin with the discovery of the exceptional Katharine Wright, younger sister of Orville and Wilbur, by 21st century Charlotte (Charlie) Tyler, a young, recently widowed, aerospace engineer and academic. As Charlie learns more about the extraordinary events of Katharine’s life she finds a path toward understanding, connection, and healing.
