In October 2020, Maestro Neal Gittleman and the Dayton Philharmonic present a family-friendly PHILHARMONSTER concert that includes the spookiness of Halloween with engaging music and plenty of fun. During the holidays, there’s no more magical place than the Schuster Center when you bring your child to THE NUTCRACKER for a matinee performance. In March 2021, the Dayton Philharmonic Youth Orchestra, Dayton Ballet II, and Dayton Contemporary Dance Company 2 team up to provide a WORLD OF DANCE. In April, the Philharmonic Family Series soars to exotic lands with the ballet PETER PAN. This classic story is filled with fairy dust, Lost Boys, Captain Hook, swashbuckling pirates, a hungry crocodile, and of course Peter Pan, the boy who wouldn’t grow up. Join little Clara as she drifts into restless slumber amidst tiny tin soldiers and menacing rodents, floats dreamily among the snowflakes, and is escorted to the Land of Sweets, where she meets the sparkling Sugar Plum Fairy and her Cavalier. Dayton Ballet's THE NUTCRACKER comprises an enormous cast, including the full professional Dayton Ballet company, dancers from Dayton Ballet II and the Dayton Ballet School, and over 100 children from the local Dayton area, all of whom have the pleasure of dancing to live music performed by the Dayton Philharmonic.

Choreographer Septime Webre tells this beloved tale through the magic of dance, filled with notable moments set to thrill audience members of any age. Peter and Wendy take flight right before our eyes in the Schuster Center, joined by a cast of cherished characters: the swashbuckling Pirates, the wandering Lost Boys, the menacing Captain Hook and his toothy cohort the Crocodile, and of course, the sparkling and spritely Tinkerbell!
