
Discovery Payment & Performance Policies
The Dayton Live Discovery Series presents weekday field trips for area schools to experience carefully selected shows designed to enhance curriculum connections throughout various subject areas. Click here if you would like to explore our Children’s Theatre programming.
PAYMENT POLICIES
- If you do not submit payment immediately upon receiving your Discovery Series Invoice, your payment must be paid in full FIVE weeks prior to the performance date.
- All changes must be made no later than FOUR weeks prior to the performance date. Please call 937-637-8267 or email discovery@daytonlive.org.
- Dayton Live reserves the right to cancel any ticket request if payment is not received five weeks prior to the performance. If you arrive to your selected show after your tickets are released, ticket sales are at the discretion of the Dayton Live Box Office Staff and seating availability once the performance begins.
- Schools/Homeschools booking multiple performances may be required to submit a deposit to complete an order.
- Dayton Live reserves the right to require a non-refundable deposit for ticket orders from schools/homeschools that have an outstanding balance from a previous season.
- Payments can be made in the form of ONE check (school or personal), MasterCard, Visa, American Express, or Discover.
- PURCHASE ORDERS: Due to the varying process times for individual schools and districts, we request your PO be sent to us within 48 hours of Ticket Request Confirmation. POs are not considered full payment.
ACCESSIBLE ACCOMMODATIONS
Please indicate any accommodation your group requires, including the number of wheelchairs, service animals, or mobility access needs, on the Ticket Request Form. Sign interpretation requests must be made two weeks prior to the selected performance. Sign interpretation and audio descriptions are only available at the 11:30 a.m. performance of each show, when requested two or more weeks in advance. Contact the Education & Engagement Department to confirm detailed accommodation by calling 937-637-8267 or emailing discovery@daytonlive.org.
LATE RESERVATIONS
Dayton Live will accept online ticket requests up to 48 hours before a select performance. If a school/homeschool would like to request tickets within 48 hours of a select performance, they must call 937-637-8267 and speak with Dayton Live staff. Fulfilling late ticket requests will be based on availability. Full payment is required at the time of a request less than five weeks before a show.
CHAPERONES
For every 10 student seats purchased for an individual performance of a Discovery Series show, one adult chaperone may attend free of charge. Additional seats for schools and home schools may be purchased at the student rate of $5 to accommodate the chaperone requirements of your school. Scholarship prices do not apply to adult chaperone tickets.
ORDER ADJUSTMENTS
Order adjustments may be made until FOUR weeks prior to the performance date. Within the four-week window before a performance, additional seats may be added to your order if space permits. No credits or refunds will be issued for unused seats. Full payment is due FIVE weeks prior to a selected performance.
ARRIVAL
Plan your arrival at least 30 minutes before the scheduled performance time. Additional information will be sent to you one week in advance of the show, describing parking and dismissal procedures
INCLEMENT WEATHER AND EMERGENCIES
If your school is closed or delayed due to inclement weather on the day of a scheduled performance, PLEASE NOTIFY US BEFORE SHOW TIME THAT YOU WILL NOT BE ATTENDING. You will have the opportunity to attend another performance (pending availability) or to receive a full refund. A decision must be made within 30 days of the affected performance to be honored. In the event of a closing or other emergency the day of your scheduled performance, call 937-637-8267 before the day of the performance or 937-228-3630 on the day of the performance.
