Accessibility

The arts should be accessible to everyone!

Doors

There is an accessible entrance (with automatic doors) located to the south of the Victoria Theatre’s main doors. All entrances at the Schuster Center have automatic doors. The PNC Arts Annex and the Metropolitan Arts Center, home of The Loft Theatre, do not have automatic doors. All entrances are accessible for standard-sized wheelchairs.

Drop-Off

At the Schuster Center, the best place to drop a passenger off is the Second Street entrance. At the Victoria Theatre, passenger drop off is on the First Street side of the building. At the PNC Arts Annex, the most accessible passenger drop-off location is at the corner of Second and Ludlow Streets.

Seating

Accessible seating for patrons with wheelchairs is available at the back of the orchestra level of the Victoria Theatre as well as on all levels of the Schuster Center. Accessible seating is also available at The Loft Theatre and PNC Arts Annex and varies by seating configuration.

Accessible seating can be purchased online, at the Ticket Office, or by calling 937-228-3630. Wheelchair seats are designated by a wheelchair icon. All seats that are designated as accessible seats will accommodate a standard wheelchair, power-chair or scooter. Each wheelchair accessible seat will have a free-standing hardback chair in its place. When selecting a wheelchair seat, please indicate if you would like the chair removed, left in place, or replaced with an armless chair.

Sensory-Friendly Performances

In a sensory-friendly performance, you can expect a reduction of loud or jarring sounds, the absence of flashing or strobe lighting on stage, modification of house lights during the performance, and a judgment-free environment where all patrons are free to vocalize or move around the theatre. At no time will anyone be asked to leave the performance due to vocal reactions, movement, or behaviors related to cognitive/developmental abilities.

Audio & Sign Interpretation

Assistive listening devices are available for Victoria Theatre, Schuster Center, and The Loft Theatre performances. You may check out one of the devices from a house manager in the lobby.

American Sign Language interpretation and/or audio description is provided for most Dayton Live presentations upon request. For information about other performances at the Schuster Center, Victoria Theatre, PNC Arts Annex, or The Loft Theatre, please call the box office at 937-228-3630 to see if arrangements can be made.

To request American Sign Language interpretation, use the promo code “ASL” prior to selecting seats.

To request audio description please select the “Audio Description” ticket option when selecting seats.

We ask that all sign interpretation and audio description requests be made at least two weeks before your performance, preferably when you are ordering your tickets. This allows us the time necessary to schedule sign interpreters and audio describers.
